WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item upgrade level by 3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool using the help of button, which displays a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current level of the item upgrader mod, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example.
