WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade items increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one purpose, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance, Item level upgrade it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to make. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
