World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For example an item with the upgrade template ending in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. Upgrade components, upgrade item unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, upgrade item and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the equipment to which it is used (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be dropped in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it can be improved upon an update.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a high possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break when it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 whenever you can.

In the final game, you will often find that the best way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that can enhance a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are also a few rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item upgrades.

When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage since the item upgrader may be more expensive even if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it could waste many resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants a buff if the player is repeatedly in or exits water. The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an item upgrader mod, it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting to its initial state, which requires the player to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded increases its crit chance that it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade Item.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
