A teacher involved in the climate protests who has been arrested on all three days of the M25 chaos this week has vowed to keep returning to block the motorway.

The woman, known only as Sandy, said the Insulate Britain activists were 'well protected by the police' amid fury from drivers who were stuck on the road. 

The 31-year-old protester also said that losing her teaching job was only a 'small concern' compared to the environmental impact of Britain not lowering emissions.  

She added that there had been a 'lot of screaming at us from motorists' earlier this week but there was 'less opportunity for it' today thanks to the police's involvement.

It comes after ministers urged officers to take 'swift' and decisive action against the activists after the M25 was blocked today, after protests on Wednesday and Monday.

Drivers have tried to clear the roads themselves, with one Metropolitan Police officer even filmed helping protesters to walk in front of cars and take their places.

Junction three at Swanley in Kent, nine at Leatherhead in Surrey, and 28 near Brentwood in Essex were all targeted this morning on a third day of chaos.  

Sandy was among a group of protesters wearing high-vis jackets who targeted junction three at about 8.30am today, with 14 of them arrested by police. 

She told The Sun Online: 'On Monday and Wednesday there was a lot of screaming at us from motorists. Today, we're well protected by the police and there's less opportunity for it.'

She said she had been arrested for the third time this week today, adding: 'I feel calm. It's out of my hands now. If I'm released, I will come back here.'

Insulate Britain, the group behind the protests, is an offshoot of Extinction Rebellion and https://j88betting.video is demanding that Boris Johnson pays for all social housing to be fully insulated.

And Sandy added: 'Losing my job is a small concern compared to what's coming if we don't lower our carbon emissions.' 

Insulate Britain claimed 79 people tried to block the London orbital motorway hours after their release from police custody following similar protests earlier this week.

Home Secretary Priti Patel is said to have told police to take 'decisive' action to crack down on the protests which brought traffic to a halt.

In a call with chief constables this morning, Ms Patel is understood to have reiterated her position and sought assurances as she was updated on the situation.

Ms Patel had already criticised the 'selfish' protesters, some of whom glued themselves to the road, after they stopped thousands of motorists on Wednesday. 

Insulate Britain said its 'actions will continue until the Government makes a meaningful commitment to insulate all of Britain's 29 million leaky homes by 2030. 

Hertfordshire Police said they did not charge them because they need more time to 'gather evidence and build a case' despite arresting dozens in the middle of the M25.
